Chelation

Chelation is the process of removing heavy metals from the body by ingesting a mineral compound capable of chemically binding to the metal ions and flushing the metal ions from the body.

When an individual has heavy metal poisoning, metal ions are capable of being absorbed into human cells where they reside and do damage to the cells.  Once absorbed, they are not easily flushed from the body.  One particular form of heavy metal poisoning as it potentially relates to Autism is Mercury poisoning.

Most people are familiar with the story of Allison in Wonderland and the "Mad Hatter".  This characterization goes back to an old saying "...mad as a hatter...".  For many years, the hat making process involved the use of Mercury in the processing of the felt used to make the hats.  People involved first hand with this production were exposed to excessive amounts of Mercury in both liquid and gaseous forms.  After a number of years of working in this production process, workers would begin exhibiting strange symptoms.

Recently, this issue has been reexamined.  Children with Autism exhibit many of the same symptoms.

With this in mind, this possibility is one which we have examined in Matthew through blood tests.  Matthew showed a small amount of Mercury and Lead in his system.  After 4 - 5 rounds of Chelating, he has begun excreting  greater levels from his body.

There is no agreement as to what is considered a "safe" amount of Mercury in the body.  Most everyone ingests some small amounts of Mercury through food and water sources.  But, most people, with healthy bodies, also have some ability to excrete small amounts of heavy metals acquired through food sources.

It is of note recently; an FDA panel is now recommending pregnant women avoid eating more than 8 ozs. of fish per week.  This is due to the fact that fish, living in the polluted waters of our industrial runoff, absorb and retain Mercury more readily than other animals.  This creates a higher level of Mercury in fish than in other meat food products.

This obviously begs the question as to why the "Medical Community" found it safe, for so many years, to inject pregnant women and day-old babies with vaccinations, sometimes unnecessarily, with much higher doses of Mercury in the vaccine preservative Thimerosol than a person would ingest in a can of tuna?????

But, that is a whole other subject.  If tests reveal the presence of abnormal levels of heavy metals in you or your child's bodies, you should consult with your doctor to see if Chelation is a  course of action that should be chosen to treat this condition.
